what is this i don't even.

gailsimone:

Some of you may know that I am a genuine card-carrying skeptic, which doesn’t mean, as is often said, that I don’t believe in anything. What it means is that I don’t believe in extraordinary things without evidence. Someone’s opinion or anecdotal evidence isn’t enough. This is a big problem on the…

One of my favorite memories from childhood was being dragged on ghost hunting outings. Granted, I didn’t love them as much at the time. They often left me wherever I dropped for the night and went off to get drunk and “commune with spirits”. I woke up, in the middle of night, in some truly bizarre places. Of all the traumatic experiences from my childhood those are the only ones I kind of like recalling. I also think they’re partially responsible for getting me really interested in paranormal stuff.

These days, I’m an eclectic Pagan. I don’t necessarily believe in astrology or God (Though I do believe in thoughtforms.) or alien abductions. I believe in things I feel I have experience with. Parts of said beliefs are often changing or questioned and… I dunno. It’s a big, complicated topic.

I don’t make a habit of arguing my POV unless someone manages to really offend me. And even then, it’s more about my freedom to pick and choose from a few unusual beliefs rather than picking one extreme view… Or if I’m having a friendly sometimes unintentionally heated debate with a like-minded individual.
